HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

How Does Automatic Fire Suppression Work?

In automatic fire suppression systems, a fire is addressed through a predefined sequence of detection, warning and activation of the extinguishing agent.

Detection & Verification

The detectors transmit signals to the fire suppression control panel, which evaluates the predefined conditions required to activate the system.

Warning & Evacuation

The designated visual and audible warning devices are activated. Where specified, a time delay is applied before the extinguishing agent is discharged to allow occupants to evacuate the area.

Fire Suppression Activation

Once the specified conditions have been met and the programmed time delay has elapsed, the control panel initiates the release of the extinguishing agent to suppress the fire.

Additional Safety Functions

Depending on the system design and equipment, additional functions may be activated, such as shutting down air conditioning and ventilation systems or controlling connected building services as part of the fire suppression process.
